Veggie Grill's Crispy Chicken Plate is out of this world delish...fried "chicken," cauliflower-mashed potatoes, porcini mushroom gravy, and steaming kale! I could eat it every night.

Real Food Daily (in L.A.). The dressing on their Caesar salad is scrumdiddlyumptious! Now if only I could afford to eat there more often...

East West Cafe in Santa Rosa, CA is absolutely incredible. They do veg food blending mediterranean flavors with fresh Californian veggies. There's a dish called the Macro Plate that has braised tamari tofu, black beans, hummus, steamed veggies, brown rice, salsa, and blue corn tortillas. It's like a little bit of everything and it's amazing.

Shojin in Downtown Los Angeles (at the edge of Little Tokyo). It is Japanese vegan & macrobiotic. The food is great -- and so is their service. The must-try dish is definitely their Dynamite Roll.

Golden Era in San Francisco, CA has the best vegan pho!

In SF, it's Ananda Fuara. A vegetarian resturaunt that satisfies vegans, vegetarians and omnivore alike. My all time favorite dish is their stroganoff (vegan). It's a daily special, that they don't make often enough. Second to that is their award-winning Veggie Burger, made from scratch every day. These are my top 2 dishes to try, but their menu is loaded with great options.

In Santa Fe, NM, it is definitely Annapurna's World Vegetarian Cafe. They're Ayurvedic way of preparing foods leaves everyone in an almost trance like state when they leave. If I can only choose one dish, it would have to be their portabello sandwich on a freshly made dosa.

End of the line cafe in Pensacola, Fl. The Knuckle sandwich is excellent!

Just tried NYC's Candle Cafe West for my daughter's eleventh birthday -- like the East Side spot and the brilliantly elegant Candle 79, the newer Candle location serves exquisite vegan dishes. I had the chipotle grilled tofu, and my daughter Leah scarfed down the kid-friendly spaghetti and wheat balls! Her chocolate mousse cake with raspberry sauce was lit with a single silver taper. Just perfect!

G-Zen in Branford CT. My favorites are the raw tacos (spiced ground walnuts with vegan guacamole on a romaine leaf), the tempeh "crab cakes" and the portobello cap stuffed with jalapeño and ground cashews. Everything there is great!

Chu Chai in Montreal. It's a veg restaurant with many vegan options. The crispy 'duck' is the one dish you must try when you go. The faux pork skewers and the crispy seaweed are also must have appetizers.

Blind Faith Cafe in Evanston, IL isn't your typical Vegetarian Restaurant that's filled with the unhealthy, carb-loaded, processed comfort food. Instead, they have fresh fruits and vegetables, hearty soups and grains, and even some gluten free treats on the menu-and despite the name, you don't have to take a leap of faith here - the food tastes AMAZING! I have lots of love for this little cafe!

Just had dinner at the Candle Cafe on west 89th and Broadway in New York with my wife, son, and grandson. We had 4 different entrees and 3 desserts so we could all share different dishes. The food was wonderful, the waitstaff was very professional. We had an exceptional dining experience

Buddha Bodai restaurant in Queens, New York, NY. It is a vegan Chinese restaurant with delicious "meat" dishes made from soy. A must-try dish is their spicy Sam Fish with pineapple sauce. I also recommend their new Lotus Root cakes, which are phenomenal.

Green Owl, Madison, WI. A truly great restaurant...and pure vegetarian. Recommend a bbq sandwich made with jackfruit. Nice spot in madcity. We travel from Green Bay for The Green Owl. Not many veg restaurants in WI.

Life Alive in Central Square, Cambridge Massachusetts. Best place on Earth

I love Love LOVE Green Vegetarian in Tempe and Phoenix, AZ (two locations now). Their spicy buffalo "chicken" wings are amazing w/ vegan ranch and the Secret BBQ "Chicken" Sandwich has the most amazing espresso barbecue sauce!

FERNS in Charlotte,NC....Yummie

Without a doubt, City O City in Denver, Colorado! You must try their Waffle of the Week! It's a giant gluten-free waffle and has ranged from the S'mores Waffle to a Falafel Waffle!

Restaurant: Candle 79 in NYC Dish: Their flagship, Seitan Piccata It melts in your mouth. I can hardly wait to go back to New York just to eat there. This is by far the best restaurant I have eaten in, and. I've eaten in quite a few.

I love Aux Vivres in Montreal and their must-try sandwich is the gyro.So delicious!

Millenium in San Francisco. It is ALL great!

Millennium in San Francisco! Completely vegan and you would never know. I have taken many carnivores there and they loved it as much as I do. Their dishes are awesomely complicated and ever-changing, so there is no one must-try dish, but really, you can't go wrong. Fancy and delicious.

In Spokane, Washington the restaurant for vegetarians is Mizuna. It has two kitchens each with their own menus... one for meat-eaters and one for vegetarians. Everything on the veggie menu is wholesome and rich in flavor and changes with the seasons, but their Roasted Beet and Lentil Salad with organic greens, chevre, candied walnuts, and red wine-maple vinaigrette is what keeps me coming back.

Best vegetarian restaurant in Northampton, Ma. Bella's

Sunflower Restaurant in the DC metro area. Their general Tsos is amazing.

The Slice of Life in Sebastopol, CA. Their Veggie Cheese Melt is my favorite!

I just visited Ojai, Calif. and had dinner at Farmer and the Cook. All the produce they use is from their organic farm. We had a vegan pizza with spelt crust and cashew cheese, grilled peppers, tomatoes, zucchini and fresh arugula. Molto Yummy.

My most favorite veggie restaurant ever is in Denver, CO. It's called Watercourse Foods. I recommend to anyone going to Denver! My favorite dish is the black bean sweet potato tacos!

The Slice Of Life in Sebastopol, CA is the best! They have so many different food options including pizza, mexican, american, italian, and of course California cuisine. Their must-try dish that I always get when in town is their veggie cheese melt supreme. This is by far the best veggie sandwich out there!

Wayward Vegan Cafe in Seattle, WA. The pull no pork sandwich and the Nutloaf.

My favorite vegan restaurant is Sunflower in Vienna, VA. The best dish there is General Tso's, but everything there is amazing. We've been going for many years and nothing compares to it!

Cafe Flora in Seattle, WA. Everything.

Having just moved from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to the Northeast, Sublime Restaurant and Bar is one place I am going to truly miss. Actually, a winter vacation might be a great excuse to stop in and get my favorite appetizer, their crispy cauliflower coated in sweet chili sauce or "Frito Misto." Anyone in the area should definitely check it out!

Sublime in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is my favorite vegan restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, but the restaurant owner donates 100% of the profits to animal welfare organizations. My favorite dish there is the mushroom ravioli with cashew cream, slow roasted tomato butter sauce with basil. It's sublime!

Belmont Vegetarian, Worcester MA. ANYTHING he's made that day will be awesome--100% guarantee it! We love his curry mock chix, vegetable stew & also his red beans & mock sweet & sour chix. Delish!!
