Vegan Prom: Pretty in Pink, Again
June 18, 2009 | Categories: Veg EventsFrom bubblegum pink gowns with matching corsages to awkward couples portraits in the front yard to your secret, unfulfilled desire to be crowned Prom Queen (maybe that was just me), for better or worse, who doesnt have vivid memories of thier high school prom tattooed on their brain? Unless, of course, you skipped it altogether.
Whether its been a few years or a few decades since your last prom, perhaps youre thinking that youve already had your lifetime fill of punch, fuschia-pink nail polish, and clumsy slow dances on the basketball court floor. Luckily, the organizers of San Franciscos Vegan Prom, Starry Starry Night, promise the not-to-be-missed event will be nothing like your high school prom.
Rather, Starry Starry Night, will be an evening of fun and dancing where prom-goers will delight in delectable vegan desserts and an open beer and wine bar at the chic a.Muse gallery while mingling with other vegans and vegetarians. Plus, all proceeds will benefit Vegan Outreach, a nonprofit organization that focuses on spreading the vegan lifestlye through their booklets. Since 2003, their Adopt A College program has distributed booklets to over 3 million students.
What could be cooler than that?
