Turn holiday baking into a chance for merrymaking: Host a cookie party

BY Joyce Sangirardi

What's the most festive way to stock up on home-made holiday treats? Invite a few friends over for a bake-and-take cookie party. Ask guests to arrive with an apron, a prepare cookie recipe, a couple of baking sheets and carry-home containers. Preheat the oven, put out refreshments, then let everyone work together rolling, cutting cooling, decorating, and yes even cleaning. By the end of the evening, guests will have boxes of goodies to take home—and no one's left holding the sponge or scrub pad. And if you're looking for some sweet ideas that go beyond your basic sugar cookie, check out these winning recipes.
