The hotel and condominium complex, which is set to open in the United Arab Emirates city in late 2009 or early 2010, is installing a network of computer-controlled heat-absorbing pipes under the sand to keep the complex's guests and residents comfortable in Dubai's sweltering temperatures; in summer these average 104°F and can soar as high as 122°F.
