Joshua Gomez, costar of NBC’s Chuck—which begins season three in March—has been a vegetarian since age 15, spurred on by an activist mother who brought PETA literature home for the family to peruse.

Q Was it difficult to talk about your going veg to friends at an age when kids struggle to fit in?

A No, actually the skateboarding scene I was a part of at the time was pretty aware of that lifestyle. In fact, there were a lot of vegetarians and vegans playing the punk music we were listening to.

Q What’s a typical meal you might cook up at home?

A Mostly, I’m a veggie-burger-in-the-microwave kind of guy, but I do love Indian, and have been known to whip up a curry or two.

Q What’s the best thing about acting on a TV show?

A All the friends I’ve made. It’s great because with such a close cast, you look forward to going to work every day.
