Basic Dressing

Makes 1 and one-quarter Cups

30 minutes or fewer

Try this zesty dressing in mixed green salads, bean or grain salads or drizzled over vegetables. A glass canning jar marked in 1-ounce increments is handy for measuring the ingredients (1 ounce equals 2 tablespoons). Refrigerate leftovers and bring to room temperature before using.
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbs. coarse-grained mustard
  • 1 Tbs. pure maple syrup or ½ tsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. dried basil
  1. In glass jar with tight-fitting lid, combine all ingredients. Secure lid and shake well.
