Bloody Berry

Serves 6

30 minutes or fewer

This fruity variation on a Bloody Mary cocktail can be served on its own or as a mixer with a shot of vodka, gin, or rum. Garnish glasses with lime wedges and candied ginger slices.
  • 4 cups hulled, chopped strawberries
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup peeled and coarsely chopped fresh ginger
  • 1–2 Thai bird chiles, split

1. Purée strawberries and lime juice in blender until smooth. Strain through fine sieve, and discard seeds.

2. Bring sugar, ginger, chiles, and 2 cups water to a boil in small saucepan. Reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat, let stand 10 minutes, then strain, and discard solids. Cool.

3. Whisk strawberry-lime juice and sugar mixture together in pitcher. Serve over ice.
