Chia Bircher Muesli

¾ cup regular rolled oats

¾ cup almond milk, plus more for serving

⅓ cup freshly squeezed orange juice

½ cup fresh berries or sliced summer fruit

2 Tbs. chopped walnuts Pure maple syrup, optional

Instructions: 

  1. Stir together oats, ¾ cup almond milk, orange juice, apple, and raisins in medium bowl. Fold in chia seeds. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Serve topped with berries and walnuts, and drizzled with almond milk and maple syrup (if using).

Why the OJ? Is it for flavor?

This was so good. The orange juice lent a hint of orange essence. It was the best "hot cereal" I've ever had. Didn't need any sweetener.

This is amazing! A bit of a change from the usual overnight oats recipe, love the addition of fresh OJ!

Are the oats cooked first or do the 'cook' in the mixture?
