Simply Rawis like a reality show stuffed into a 90-minute documentary; some moments make you laugh, and others make you cry. Heres the scenario: six diabetics from all over the country converge at The Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Patagonia, Ariz., to follow a special diet for 30 days in the hopes of finding health. The participants are supplied with raw, vegan meals that contain no alcohol, caffeine, or sugar, and are monitored by a medical team (lead by Dr. Gabriel Cousens), who keeps close track of their changing condition.
In addition to the special diet, the participants are encouraged to exercise and taught about food selection and preparation in hopes of changing their bad habits so they can continue their healing once they return to their daily lives.
The results from the program are impressive, and start to show up after only a few days. Most of the participants end up going off of all of their medications, and achieve better cholesterol and blood sugar levels without the aid of pharmaceuticals.
Come day 30, only five people remain in the program (one decided he couldnt hack it), but the positive results of the remaining five are undeniable. If you or anyone close to you has type 2 or type 1 diabetes, this film offers an abundance of food for thought. Go check it out at: rawfor30days.com.
