Blackberry-Lime Sundaes


For even more tart, fruit flavor (or to make this recipe vegan), replace the frozen yogurt with lime sorbet (substitute soy margarine for the butter) and garnish each sundae with springs of fresh mint.

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbs. lime juice
  • 1 Tbs. unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp. lime zest
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 pint vanilla frozen yogurt
  • 4 1/4-inch-thick round lime slices, optional


Combine sugar, lime juice and butter in large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook 3 minutes, or until sugar dissolves. Let cool 2 minutes.

Stir lime zest into syrup, then toss with berries in bowl.

Scoop frozen yogurt into glasses or dessert dishes; spoon berries and sauce over frozen yogurt. Garnish with lemon slices, if desired.
