Spicy Beet Slaw

This is a favorite dish of Chef Fred Anthony of Garza Vegeria in San Antonio. A hot-and-spicy grated slaw will play off the blander, richer flavors of a holiday meal. For extra color, make the slaw with candy cane or yellow beets.

  • apple cider vinegar
  • shredded raw beets
  • shredded Granny Smith apple
  • organic cane sugar


Combine all ingredients in large bowl, and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Chill 30 minutes before serving
