We didn’t know we needed boozy, canned whipped cream until Cardi B arrived to show us. The rapper and all-around pop culture icon is working with Whipshots Vodka Infused Whipped Cream, a new product that, the company promises brings a “‘playful shot of sophistication to any drink, dessert, or party.”
Whipshots caught our eye here at VT for all the obvious reasons, but also because the product is reportedly dairy-free. No ingredients list for the product has been posted online, but we have reached out to the company for confirmation and will update this story as information becomes available. According to company statements, the product is shelf-stable (which certainly implies it may be dairy-free) and rings in at 10 percent ABV – approximately the same as your average Pinot Grigio – and available in mocha, vanilla, and caramel flavors.
The product comes from Santa Monica, California-based Starco Brands, who also manufacture the Winona Pure line of canned oils and plant-based butter substitutes, among other labels.
“At Starco Brands we pride ourselves on only commercializing products and technologies that are truly behavior changing,” Starco CEO Ross Sklar stated in an announcement. “Whipshots is one of the most innovative products to ever hit the spirits vertical. This combines delectable flavors, cutting edge creative direction and a world class celebrity and influencer strategy. We are honored and thrilled to be shaking up the spirits world and cannot wait for everyone to experience this party in a can.”
Cardi B, who has spoken publicly about her plant-based diet in the past, reportedly collaborated on the “bougie x boozy” confection’s development with Sklar and Staco Chief Mixology Officer Rob Floyd, shared her own enthusiasm for the product. “Whipshots is over the top, sexy and unique – kind of like me. It’s going to be a party in every can. No matter where you are, you can party like Cardi, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share this one-of-a-kind product with all of you.”
While it seems perfectly positioned for the decadent holiday party season, Whipshots is not yet available in many retail outlets. Instead, interested parties are encouraged to sign up for daily “Whip Drop” announcements to purchase online. Each day in December, 500 cans will be allocated for eager shoppers.
