If holiday mayhem at the mall has left you a little disgruntled with consumerism lately, it’s time to remind yourself of the true spirit of the season—giving. Yet, the question of Who to give to? returns each holiday season like your extended family from out of town.

Thanks to One Laptop per Child (OLPC), with just a few simple clicks, you can give a child in the developing world a solar-powered laptop designed for children. OLPC has shipped over 500,000 connected, solar-capable laptops to children in some of the poorest, most rural places on Earth, including Rwanda, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Haiti, and Nepal.

Their XO laptop is made just for children, with a durable plastic exterior, built-in wireless, a display that’s readable under direct sunlight, and software that encourages exploration, creativity, and collaboration. “These children learn, play, program, and have access to thousands of
books in their language, as well as millions on the Internet, according to OLPC.
