Welcome to the VT Editors’ Blog, one of my favorite features of a smarter, shinier (and infinitely more useful) vegetariantimes.com. A project many months in the making, our revamped site gives you more ways to get informed and inspired about great food, good health, and green living.

Our fully loaded recipe database—more than 10,000 recipes strong and growing—now includes more ways to search for just the right recipe, plus gorgeous food photos to inspire your cooking. You can also save favorites into your own online recipe box, generate recipe-specific shopping lists, and tap into VT’s collection of ready-to-go special-occasion menus.

Meanwhile, this blog gives the VT editors new opportunities to connect with readers in real time. All day, every day, we’re tapping into news, people, products, and resources that get us excited about what we do. Now in addition to telling one another over our cubicle walls, we can tell you—right away! You’ll be hearing regularly from me and web editor Lisa Barley (who’s been the muscle behind our makeover), and the rest of the editorial team. My predecessor, Mary Margaret Chappell, who recently followed her dream and moved her life to France, loves us so much she’s staying on as our transcontinental-telecommuting food editor. What that means to you, besides more great food in every issue, is regular blog posts from a kitchen in Brittany.

We hope you’ll chime in, too. Whether you’re a die-hard vegan, a veg-curious omnivore, or somewhere in between, we want your feedback. Take part in our conversations by posting comments, and weigh in on our weekly polls. The result will be a livelier dialogue, and ultimately, a more meaningful Vegetarian Times.

Enjoy!
