The surf world meets indie films with Taylor Steeles new Castles in the Sky, a follow up to his 2006 film Sipping Jetstreams.
So far the footage includes scenes from Vietnam, Iceland, Peru, and India, and emphasizes the local flair and people almost as much as it does the amazing waves and surfers who ride them.
“This is my passion, Steele explains. I do other projects, so I can keep these going.
This truth comes through loud and clear in the film, which is a unique vision created by a passion for both people and surf. It feels like a poem in the works, with wordless images of local faces, grainy street scenes, beautiful waves, and fearless surfers.
Castles is slated for a late 2009/early 2010 opening, depending on how many more locations they decide to visit. Check out Reel Sessions to get the current skinny.
