Patagonia now offers a selection camping food, including Savory Seeds pouches, which are a great fit for Vegetarian Times readers. They are vegan mixes of lentils, seeds, and buckwheat with three spice blends; each pouch runs 120-130 calories for 5-6 grams of protein. We liked these for a savory alternative to omnipresent sweet protein bars, but wish the pouches had a flat bottom or resealable top because ours kept falling over and spilling out.
Classic barbecue: Just enough smoky barbecue flavor without overwhelming the nuttiness of the seeds.
Chipotle lime: The lime is definitely the dominant flavor in this pouch, with a hint of chipotle. Fellow lime aficionados, unite!
Mellow curry: Definitely on the mellow side, this curry flavor is a lovely blend that won’t overwhelm. We kept hopping back up for one more taste.
