Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

Combine sugar and 1/3 cup water in medium saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Do not stir. Cook 7 to 10 minutes, or until mixture turns rich amber color. Remove from heat; carefully stir in heavy cream. This mixture will harden with addition of cold cream. Place pan over low heat, and cook until smooth and creamy. Stir in vanilla and add pinch of salt, if desired.
