Inspired by the old-fashioned soda fountain treat, this refreshing drink is a perfect mid-morning or afternoon snack. The fruit gives it natural sweetness; the tofu increases the protein content. And adding ground flaxseeds contributes a pleasant, slightly nutty flavor—plus fiber and omega-3s.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup reduced-fat (2%) or non-dairy milk
- 1/4 cup soft tofu, chilled
- 1 Tbsp frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1 Tbsp ground flaxseeds or Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts, optional
Preparation
Place all ingredients, in order, in blender. Whirl until smooth and frothy. Pour into tall glass, and drink immediately.
