Grilled Seitan Bulgogi

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 3 Tbs. low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs. sherry
  • 2 Tbs. dark agave nectar
  • 1 Tbs. sesame oil
  • 1 Tbs. rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbs. sugar
  • 1 Tbs. grated fresh ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (1 Tbs.)
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (1/4 cup)
  • 2 lb. plain seitan, sliced on the bias

Preparation

1. Whisk together broth, soy sauce, sherry, agave nectar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, ginger, garlic, and pepper in shallow dish. Stir in green onions. Add seitan; marinate 2 hours.

2. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium. Drain seitan, and grill 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until browned and firm.
